About Age & Ability Waterproof Blanket

Our Story

Age & Ability Waterproof Blanket was created with care, intention, and real people in mind.

Our journey began with our sister brand, Split Peach Blanket, which was originally designed for intimacy.
Over time, we noticed something unexpected and meaningful — many customers were purchasing our blankets for elderly parents, people living with disability, and family members who needed gentle, reliable protection.

While we were encouraged to see our product being used in diverse and caring ways, it also made us pause.

We realised that elderly people and individuals with special needs deserved more than a product that was “adapted” from something else.
They deserved a brand fully committed to them — one that prioritised comfort, dignity, and thoughtful design from the very beginning.

That’s when Age & Ability was created.

As we researched the market, we found very few high-quality options available.
Most products were plastic pads or polyester-based waterproof blankets that felt noisy, uncomfortable, and clinical.
There was a clear gap for something better.

So we designed a blanket specifically for rest, recovery, and everyday care.

One side of our blanket is made from 100% organic muslin cotton, and the other from 80% bamboo and 20% cotton.
These fabrics were chosen carefully to provide softness, breathability, and natural temperature regulation — helping the body stay cool and comfortable during long periods of rest.

Our blanket does not require any additional layers.
It can be placed directly on top of bedding, making it simple and practical for daily use.

It is 100% waterproof, super absorbent, hypoallergenic, antibacterial, hormone-safe, and OEKO-TEX® certified.
It does not feel plastic-like, and it does not trap heat or cause discomfort.

Every Age & Ability blanket is made using fresh materials and thoughtful production processes.
Manufacturing can take up to 6 weeks, followed by approximately 5 weeks for delivery to our warehouse — a timeline that reflects our commitment to quality rather than mass production.

Age & Ability exists to offer quiet support.
To make daily life easier.
And to ensure that care feels respectful, comfortable, and human.
